How route quotas work

Route Planner includes a monthly quota for the number of new routes you can create. The quota depends on your plan and is shared across everyone on your account.

Monthly limits by plan

Standard 20
Professional 50

The counter resets at the start of each calendar month. You can always see your current usage in the top-right of Route Planner, for example "3 / 20 routes this month".

What counts as a new route

Your quota is only used when you save a new route. That includes saving a route for the first time and saving a route as a new one.

What does NOT count

Once a route is saved, using it again is always free. None of these use any quota:

  • Opening a saved route
  • Copying the Google Maps link again
  • Sending the same route via SMS again (this uses SMS credits, not route quota)
  • Opening the route in Google Maps
  • Changing the status of a stop (planned / completed / skipped)
  • Renaming, archiving, or restoring a route

In short: plan and re-use as much as you like. Only creating a brand-new route counts toward your monthly limit.

When you reach your limit

If you have used all of your routes for the month, you can still open, copy, and re-send every route you have already saved. To create more new routes, wait for the monthly reset or upgrade your plan.

Quota is per account

The quota belongs to your account, not to each individual user. If your team shares an account, everyone draws from the same monthly allowance, and everyone can see and re-use the routes that anyone on the account has saved.
