How to connect to your HubSpot portal
To use Brave Tools with your HubSpot data, you first need to connect your HubSpot portal. This connection allows Brave Tools to securely access the content and data you want to manage.
Step 1: Create a Private App in HubSpot
Before connecting, you need to create a Private App in your HubSpot account.
Go to Settings → Integrations → Private Apps and click Create private app.
Give your app a name and optional description, then move on to the Scopes tab.
Under Scopes, make sure to include the following permissions:
- files.ui_hidden.read
- forms-uploaded-files
- files
- hubdb
These scopes are required for Brave Tools to read and manage files and HubDB data inside your HubSpot portal.
Note! Only users with Super Admin permissions in HubSpot can create private apps.
Once you’ve added the scopes, click Create app.
After the app is created, copy your Private App Access Token (it starts with pat-na1- or pat-eu1-). Keep it secure — you’ll need it for the next step.
Step 2: Connect your portal in Brave Tools
In Brave Tools, navigate to Connections, then click Connect New Portal.
A modal will appear asking for your connection details:
Connection Name – for example, “My HubSpot Portal” (this is your internal name)
Private App Access Token – paste the token you copied from HubSpot for your private app.
Click Connect Portal to finalize the connection.

If everything is set up correctly, your portal will appear in the list of Connected Portals, along with its Portal ID and connection date.
You can now start using Brave Tools to manage your HubDB tables, upload and organize files, and work with media stored in HubSpot.
