How to use Bucket DateTime in Property Transformer

The Bucket DateTime action lets you extract time buckets, day of week, month, quarter, and year from any date property. This is useful for building reports and segments based on when things happen, like "deals closed by quarter" or "engagement by day of week".

This action works on all object types including Contacts, Companies, Deals, and Custom Objects.

Supported property types:
- Date picker

How to set it up

  1. In your HubSpot workflow, add a new action

  2. Under "Integrated Apps", find "Brave Tools"

  3. Select "Bucket DateTime"

  4. Configure the input fields (see below)

  5. Map the output values to the properties you want to update

Example

You want to analyze when deals are closed to find patterns.

Configuration: Timezone = Europe/Stockholm, Time bucket size = 4h
Input: Close date = 2026-03-15T14:30:00Z
Output: Time bucket = "12:00-15:59", Day of week = "Saturday", Quarter = "Q1", Month = "March", Year = 2026, Hour of day = 14

Good to know

  • All output fields are calculated from a single date property, giving you multiple dimensions to work with.

  • If the date field is empty, all output fields will be left empty and the workflow will continue.

  • Property Transformer is available on paid plans. Trial users do not have access to this feature.
