Verifying your mobile number
You can save a mobile number on your Brave Tools profile and verify it with a quick text message. A verified number lets you receive test messages from SMS Campaigns and route links from the Route Planner, sent only to you or your verified teammates. We never let anyone type in a free phone number, which keeps these features safe to use.
How to verify your number
- Open your Profile page
- In the Mobile number card, choose Add number
- Enter your mobile number twice (the second field guards against typos) and choose Send verification SMS
- Open the link in the text message on your phone
- Your profile updates to Verified on its own. You do not need to refresh the page
The verification text from the sender BraveTools contains a single confirmation link. Opening that link on your phone is all it takes.
This is free for you
The verification message is sent by Brave at no cost to you. It does not use your SMS credits.
Limits that keep it safe
Because each verification text costs us to send, there are a few sensible limits:
- You can request up to 3 verification messages. A successful verification resets this counter
- There is a short cooldown (about a minute) between requests, so a double-tap does not send two texts
- You can change your number up to 5 times in total
If you reach one of these limits, contact us, and we will reset it for you.
Changing your number
You can change your number from the same Mobile number card on your profile. A new number always needs to be verified again, and your old number stops being usable straight away.
Who can see your number?
Your full number is private. When a teammate picks you as a test recipient, they only ever see a masked version, for example, +4670***96. Nobody on your team, not even an account owner, sees your full number in the app.
