Which countries can I send SMS to?
Brave Tools supports SMS delivery to a wide range of countries globally through our SMS delivery partners.
Global SMS coverage
Brave Tools can deliver SMS to over 200 countries worldwide. Delivery is handled by our SMS partners (46elks), who maintain direct agreements with mobile operators globally.
Where it works best
Delivery is most reliable in:
- Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland)
- Western Europe (Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, etc.)
- Baltic countries
These regions have mature SMS infrastructure and high delivery rates with alphanumeric sender names.
Countries with restrictions
Some countries have regulations that affect SMS delivery:
- USA and Canada: alphanumeric sender names are typically not allowed. Use a phone number as sender instead.
- India, China, Saudi Arabia, UAE: sender name registration and pre-approval required
- Some Asian and African countries: lower delivery reliability, longer delays
Before sending a large campaign to an unfamiliar country, send a test message to verify delivery. In the Cost Preview step (Dry run) you'll get the exact price for this county.
Phone number format
All phone numbers must be in international format (E.164):
- Start with + followed by country code
- No spaces, dashes, or parentheses
- Example: +46701234567 (Sweden)
- Example: +447700900123 (UK)
Brave Tools automatically normalizes common formats, but contacts in your HubSpot list should ideally use E.164 format.
Cost varies by destination
SMS pricing differs per country due to operator fees. Your Brave SMS credits or 46elks account covers all destinations. Check the credit store in Brave Tools for current pricing on your specific needs.
Tips
- Send a test SMS before running a large international campaign
- Use phone number senders (not alphanumeric) when targeting North America
- For high-regulation countries, check local requirements first
- Keep messages short to maximize deliverability and minimize cost
